ANDREAS VOLLENWEIDER

Nasceu em 04 de outubro de 1953 em Zurique-Suiça. Filho de um dos maiores organistas europeus, ANDREAS cresceu envolto da boa música. Precoce instrumentista, apaixonou-se em 1975 pela sonoridade da harpa desenvolvendo e adequando o instrumento a seu próprio estilo. Criou a harpa electro-acustica. ANDREAS compõe para cinema, teatro e TV. Em 1979 lançou seu 1º album solo, Eine Art Suite in XIII Teilen, considerado o berço do seu som pois, usando som estéreo, misturou folk, rock progressivo e outras influências sonoras, sendo pioneiros no que depois chamou-se "New Age". Dois anos depois, em 1981, Andreas Vollenweider & Amigos apresemtam seu primeiro Show no Festival Mundial de Jazz em Montreux. No outono seguinte seu album: "BEHIND THE GARDENS..." estoura na midia, provando ser um sucesso de crítica e público, propagando o som distinto de Vollenweider por todo o planeta.
Andreas foi desenvolvendo o instrumento, enquanto compunha trilhas para filme, teatro e televisão. Em 80, lança A Form Of Suite In XIII Parts, seu primeiro disco solo, Em 80, seus discos instrumentais foram aos poucos ganhando um público fiel, que já lhe rendeu até o momento oito milhões de cópias vendidas em todo o mundo. Ele participou do CD Pavarotti & Friends 2 (95) ao lado de Luciano Pavarotti e Bryan Adams. Seu CD, Cosmopolitan, conta com participações de Milton Nascimento, Carly Simon e Bob McFerrin
